I’m so sad today to hear my friend Lauren has passed away. We met on the MCR tour and she was so kind to my band and our crew, she always had a big smile on her face and she loved my big woolly jumper with teddy bears on it.
We kept in touch since that tour and up until really recently she was helping me make inroads in the US with my songwriting.
She told me she was unwell but I didn’t know the last time we messaged each other would be the last time.
I’ll really miss our transatlantic chats. Thinking of her family today and of course all the MCR guys who I know she thought the world of and them of her

While I never got a chance to properly meet Lauren Valencia, I did see her several times from across a crowded room at various MCR shows. I wish time would have allowed me to get to know her. She sounds like she had the backs of both the band and the fans, which is a tough job.

What I know for sure is that life can be short or long but each day we are blessed to wake up, we get a chance to change the world by just being a positive person and moving through life with a sense of gratitude.
I challenge everyone today, even if you are having a shitty day so far, to find something in life you are grateful for. If you aren’t in pain, or battling an ailment, you are already doing better than many who are sick and shut in.
