- From Dennis Devitte:
I was a Metro cop for 30 years and one man stood out as a true leader. Larry Burns passed away last night.
Many of you voted for him when he ran for Sheriff. He will be missed by many, he made Las Vegas a better, safer place to live.
In the history of Metro there was not a better leader or a kinder gentleman. Even it you don’t like cops, you would have liked him.
Godspeed Larry Burns, Las Vegas will miss you.
