Pau Dones of Jarabe de Palo had suffered from colon cancer since 2015. In 2016, he announced that he no longer had traces of the illness only for Donés cancer to return in 2017.
Due to having cancer, Pau Dones announced he would stop playing indefinitely in 2018, but in 2019, he was already working on his new album ‘Tragas o Escupes,’ which was released on May 27, 2020, barely two weeks before he passed away.
