Monique Mercure cause of death, obituary: Actress Monique Mercure has died May 16, 2020 from ENT cancer. She was 89 years old.
Her daughter Michèle was at her bedside.
Simon Brault, Director of the Canada Council for the Arts, announced Monique Mercure death in a statement that read:
“ Monique Mercure died peacefully last night. A very great artist is missing. We have been loyal and inseparable friends for 30 years. This drawing is that of his daughter Michèle. Rest in peace Monique.”
Throughout her career, Monique Mercure has marked the public with numerous roles in cinema, television and theater.

In 1960, she played her first role in the play L’Opéra de quat’sous presented at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde.
In 1977, she became the first Quebecer to win the prize for female interpretation at the Cannes Film Festival for the film JA Martin, photographer .
In the past few years, the star has played several roles on the small screen in series such as Providence and Mémoires vives .
