Kel Van Allen death: Car SOS TR4 owner Kel Van Allen died January 5, 2020 due to a stroke.
He had suffered a stroke, two and a half years before his death, which took 80% of his sight.
Car SOS announced Kel Van Allen death in a statement that read:
Very sad news. We were all devastated to hear that TR4 owner Kel Van Allen unexpectedly passed away a few days ago. Anyone who has watched that episode (from series 7) will remember what a very decent, loving, family man he was.
We heard from son Ben that, in spite of his disabilities, Kel and wife Deb spent many happy hours enjoying their beloved car.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Ben, Mark, Deb and all Kel’s family.
On Sunday 26th April, Kel’s son Mark Van Allen represented Team Vista in the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon in memory of his Dad.
Mark was raising money for Vista who helped his dad Kel, who suffered a stroke which took 80% of his sight, his worst fear.
Some dark times were ahead for Mark’s dad Kel but when things looked uncertain, along came Eric from Vista. Eric helped Mark’s dad to adapt to his sight loss, taking him out to teach him new ways of living with a disability like blindness.
Kel Van Allen’s children Ben and Mark appreciated Car SOS on their Facebook page and wrote in the comments:

So very sad to see Kel had passed, watched car sos and he was so very happy . Beautiful bond between father and sons . So glad Kel and his lovely wife had time to enjoy the car . May he rest in peace and his beautiful memory live in your hearts . Mine was breaking when I heard he passed . To have a wonderful father is one of the best of lives gifts . I’ve just watched Car SOS and was so happy to see Kel in his amazing beautifully restored TR4. However to then read that he had tragically died was such a shock. His two sons are a credit to him and Kel’s spirit will surely live on in them, and of course in his wonderful Triumph TR4.
