John Peter Sloan cause of death – dead, obituary, funeral plans: British comedian and writer John Peter Sloan died May 25th 2020. He was only 51 years old.
His agent Stefania Milanesi, as reported by La Stampa, said:
“It all happened suddenly. He suffered from asthma, had an emphysema, but nothing to worry about. Then, last night, he was transferred to the hospital, he had an aggravation and there was nothing to do.”
John Peter Sloan is celebrated as the most famous English teacher on TV.
The British actor, comedian and writer from Birmingham died suddenly at 51 in Menfi, Sicily, where he moved in 2016 and opened his Sloan – The English School.

Famous in Italy thanks above all to Zelig (his character, the English teacher, was among the most successful), he participated in many other broadcasts, also as a commentator on Amici, Cristina Parodi Live, Geppi Hour, La Vita Live, Those who Football and Report, etc.
His last time on TV was last December on Rai 3 in Le Parole della Week .

I am so sorry that John left us, I have learned English for many years, but it’s thanks to him if today I feel comfortable in speaking English, he was an amazing teacher!!!

He tried to gain advantage by rubbishing the traditional language teaching methods. In fact there is a lot to be said about learning English from the old textbooks. If you bought his books and attempted to learn English from them you will have found that at the end of the course you knew little more than when you started. And as for ‘my name is…’ there are lots of circumstances when that is EXACTLY what you have to say to introduce yourself.
