The Real Housewives of New York City Season 12 premiere, which aired on April 2, paid tribute to Gamba, who is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne, and daughters.

Andy Cohen will be airing a tribute to Peter at the end of tonight’s “Watch What Happens Live” episode on Bravo (8pm PST / 11pm EST).

We lost a member of the editing community last night from COVID19 complications. Rest In Peace Peter Gamba. He was editing The Real Housewives Of New York up until recently. He’s edited that show since season 1 and also all the  @Bethenny spin-offs. We lost a good one.

Peter Gambi death – dead, obituary, funeral plans, cause of death: Peter Gamba coronavirus

Peter Gambi death by confirmed was confirmed by Lisa Shannon, Executive Producer and Senior Vice President of Programming at Shed Media in a statement to The Daily Dish that read:

“Today we lost someone very special in the Real Housewives and Bravo family due to complications from COVID-19.

Peter Gamba’s GoFundMe page reads:

Today the world lost one of the greats. There is not a person who met Peter Gamba that doesn’t have a story to tell afterwards. He was our mentor, our confidant, our shoulder to lean on, our giver-of-advice, our person, and most importantly, our friend.

Peter put life in perspective. He was the weathervane we all looked to for guidance and reassurance. The constant in the storm. He instinctively knew when to send a text to check in, when you needed a hug, when to say just the right thing and what words to use (even the good cuss words).

His edit bay was a refuge for anyone seeking counsel, a moment of quiet or a much-needed escape. He had a heart of gold and was a devoted, generous person who would drop anything for a friend in need. His hugs could fix almost any worry and his belly laugh was food for the soul.

Peter was a hell of an editor and would proudly call anyone in to his bay to show them some funny scene he had just cut, laughing the entire time he played the clip. He loved to quote the notes he received – “this party is a dud” – being a recent favorite.

And while we would ride him for his music cue choices or his less-than-swift pace at times, there was nothing like watching a scene that he cut and made his own, putting his sense of humor into it.

He loved to make people laugh and he did it well. Peter cared – he was proud and humble. He worked his ass off no matter what scene he was cutting or what show he was working on. He delivered and he left his mark.

But of all the things Peter loved: golf, La Lucha, naps … nothing compared to his love for his daughters, Michelle and Julia, and his incredible wife, Jeanne.

While we are all devastated by the loss of this larger-than-life man with the twinkle in his eye, we want to celebrate his impact on each of us by doing what he would want us to do now: take care of his girls.

In just 24-hours this fund has raised more than $60,000. This is an amazing testament to the reach that Peter and his family have had and the love is felt far and wide.

Thank you to all of you who have donated and who continue to get the word out to support his loving family. We are certain he is smiling down at his tribe, feeling the love, giving everyone a collective bear hug.

Our hearts are filled with your kind generosity and knowing the difference that Peter made in your lives. It was too soon for him to leave us, but we’re better for who he helped us to become.

All our love, Jeanne, Julia, and Michelle
