Born on May 18, 1959, in Ontario, Canada, Gordon Jay Wells is a former professional ice hockey player. He began his hockey journey with the Preston Raiders in the Mid-Western Junior Hockey League during the 1975-76 season before moving to the Kingston Canadians in the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League (now known as the Ontario Hockey League), where he played for three seasons from 1976 to 1979. From 2008 to 2012, Wells served as an assistant coach for the Manitoba Moose. He continued his coaching career as an assistant coach for the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, he joined the Saginaw Spirit as an assistant coach but departed in 2016. Wells is reported to reside in Boston, Ontario, where he owns a sawmill business. He remains connected to hockey through coaching and participating in charity games.
