LM Radio announced Ian Logan death after his illness in a statement that read:
Today is a very sad day for all of us in the LM Radio family.
We heard this morning that our friend and colleague, Ian Logan passed away this morning, after his long and brave battle with cancer.
His talent, warm smile, spirit and perseverance will be long remembered by us all.
Our heartfelt condolonces, and wishes for serenity and peace at this time, go to his loving mom, family, friends and all those he was close to Ian during his life and long radio career.
Thank you for all your kind messages.
R.I.P dearest friend Ian.

Born and educated in Pietermaritzburg, after graduating with a BA English and Political Science degree in 1986, Ian joined CAPITAL RADIO 604 in Durban as a traffic reporter from the CAPITAL HELICOPTER, as well as presenting weekend music shows.
He moved to Joburg in 1988 to present a Monday to Friday late night show on 702 Music Radio.
Ian then presented weekend shows on 94.7 Highveld Stereo from 1995 till 2001, after which he worked for a number of community radio stations both on and off air. Ian has been the Afternoon Drive Show host on LM RADIO since 2017.
Ian’s TV presenting career includes the music sdhow FAST FORWARD in 1991, SABC3 Continuity from 1992 to 2000 and the Formula One show in 2001.
Ian had shaved his head October 2018 for Cancer in support of Breast Cancer Month October and Prostate Cancer month – November.

Very Saddened today at 10h30 to hear the passing of Ian Logan.
Have followed Ian on various Radio Stations since the early 80s up to and including LM Radio.
When Tinky Pringle reannouced the passing of Ian on her show! My heart broke for her. She was really broken.
