According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, James Smith was on his Yamaha motorcycle attempting to make a right turn into a 7-Eleven. At the same time, a 2019 Chevy Camaro was traveling eastbound on Whitfield and attempting to turn left into the gas station.
The Camaro made a turn in front of Smith’s motorcycle, causing a collision between the two vehicles. Smith was ejected from the bike.
James was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital but unfortunately, he died from his injuries. Please say a prayer for his grieving family.
