Berkmar High School shooting update after a report of a gun at school: According to Berkmar High School principal, they are in the process of ending the hard lockdown.
Everyone is safe and no weapon has been found.
There was a heavy police presence Thursday afternoon at Berkmar High School in Gwinnett County and the school was placed on lockdown after officials say a gun was reported on campus Thursday afternoon.
The statement from the principal reads:
At Berkmar High, we are committed to our students’ success and well-being and strive to provide a positive school environment.
With that in mind, I want to make you aware that the school is in the process of ending a hard lockdown after a report of a weapon at school.
I want to reassure you that everyone is safe and no weapon has been found. Our school police are investigating, and we will notify you when we have more information to share.
