Police summon OAP Dotun over domestic violence allegations
On Air Personality, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode professionally known as Dotun, has been summoned by the Nigeria Police Force over an ongoing investigation into allegations leveled against him by his estranged wife.
The police invited the Radio host over alleged unlawful entry, malicious damage to property, criminal trespass and illegal use of police officers against his ex, Omotayo, according to a report by The Punch.
A document obtained by the publication revealed that the Force Criminal Investigation Department asked Dotun to avail himself for an interview at exactly 11:00 am on Monday, January 16, 2023
The document reads; This is to formally invite you in respect of an ongoing investigation at the SWAT/FCIID, Abuja on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 11:00 am for an interview with the Commissioner of Police, through DSP Umar Ubali.
“Kindly call this phone number on your arrival. Thank you as we appreciate your cooperation.”
When contacted, DSP Ubali confirmed the development; “Yes, the document you obtained is correct. We have invited Oladotun over an ongoing investigation into the December 14, 2022 petition against him which was written to the FCIID.”
The OAP had earlier slammed singer, Dapo Oyebanji popularly known as D’Banj for allegedly distorting truths in an ongoing legal feud with his wife, Omotayo.
He accused the musician of spreading falsehoods in the press about his marital issues and noted that he has been quiet for two years.
In 2013, Dotun got married to his wife, Taiwo, who is the younger sister of D’Banj and K Switch’s twin.
News broke sometime back that she filed for separation from the radio host over claims of domestic violence, forced abortion and emotional abuse.
It was alleged on December 14, 2022, that Dotun broke into Taiwo’s Abuja residence with some policemen, assaulted her gateman and staff.
Thereafter, Taiwo, through her lawyer, Olajengbesi, petitioned the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja for unlawful entry, malicious damage, criminal trespass and unlawful use of policemen by Do2dtun.
Dotun who decided to break silence on the report, took to his Instagram page on Friday, December 16 and wrote; ”N no power again, don’t worry I will give it more light soon! No more love and light all lights off. I am waiting patiently. I have been quiet for the past two years…
Several lies have been told, several attempts have been employed to pervert the course of justice. It is shameful when legal practitioners that are supposed to be learned, rather than submit themselves to the jurisdiction of the Court, choose to conduct the practice of the law like social media bloggers.
Anyways, @iambangalee of life, I have heard and read the spurious lies you, your half baked lawyer and your family have fabricated with the press and the police and I promise you, I am ready for you. Since you have chosen to take the matter to the press, the entire world will now know how wicked, deceitful, ignorant and despicable you and your entire family are. As for Taiwo, Mummy wa, God will heal your heart one day. i won’t stop praying for you.”
