Mummy Calm Down Boy: Police arrest husband of woman who commited suicide
The Edo State Police Command has arrested the father of the viral “mummy calm down” boy, Oreoluwa, just days after his mother’s death by suicide.
It was earlier reported that Mrs. Toluige Olokoobi took her own life for reasons best to her, leaving behind three children for her husband..
This heart-wrenching news comes three years after her son, Ore, became an internet sensation when a video of him telling her to ‘calm down’ when she was rebuking him went viral.
In the wake of her untimely death, Chidi Nwabuzor, the Spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, confirmed her husband’s arrest to BBC Pidgin on Thursday, November 9.
Chidi disclosed that the husband is currently in police custody for questioning and will be subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
He also confirmed that the woman’s body has been deposited in the morgue.
Nwabuzor said;
“He alerted the neighbours who followed him to the hospital where she was confirmed dead. He’s still with the police and will soon be transferred to the State CID for further investigation.”
