John Gallagher death:
Before his death, John E. Gallagher III, was husband to Rosanne (Rose) and father of two – Elizabeth and Danielle, and eldest brother to Paula Scott, Grace Aquilino, and Joe Gallagher, as well as an uncle and godfather to many.
John died Saturday, March 2, 2019, due to complications after two cardiac arrests.
His obituary reads:
John was a deeply loved and admired man. His presence impacted the lives of life long friends as well as many people in the film/TV industry.
As a man always behind the camera, his influence was not always recognized but it was felt by all. His talents allowed for great accolades to be achieved, and he remains an inspiration to each of us.
His existence in our lives allowed us to be better people.
There was a celebration of John’s life at Redden’s Funeral Home, located at 325 West 14th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue, on Saturday, March 9 from 6 PM to 9 PM, and Sunday, March 10, from 2 PM – 6 PM.
His funeral Mass held on Monday, March 11 at 10:00 AM at the Epiphany Church, located at 373 Second Avenue (on the corner of East 22nd Street).
Gallagher worked on NBC’s The Blacklist since 2013 and was the first assistant director on more than 30 episodes.
John Gallagher also has first assistant director credits on Gossip Girl, Fringe, The Sopranos, and The Bone Collector. Gallagher is also known for directing multiple episodes of Criminal Minds.
