Sheldon Sawyer Vanessa Sawyer death: Sheldon Sawyer, correctly spelt Sheldon Soyer, shot his wife Vanessa Soyer 13 times in front of their 13-year-old son in 2015 after she considered separation and divorce from him.
Now 48-years-old, Sheldon Soyer is serving life in prison plus five years for fatally shooting Vanessa Soyer in front of their son.
Vanessa Soyer was a 47 year old author at the time of her death. She was thinking about leaving her husband, then 45 year old Sheldon Soyer, who had three adult children and a 13-year-old son with Vanessa.
Vanessa Sawyer death: How Sheldon Sawyer killed Vanessa Sawyer
Vanessa Soyer had gone to New York to visit friends and family and to think about her relationship with her husband.
On November 15, 2015, she returned home to her Hillcrest apartment in Lawrenceville.
The next day, November 16, 2015, Vanessa Soyer got into an argument with Sheldon and he pulled out his 9mm handgun.
According to the DA’s office, Sheldon Soyer had called his 13 year old son into the room “to tell him something.”
As the young boy got into the room, Sheldon Soyer pushed Vanessa Soyer to the ground and shot her 13 times.
Sheldon then pointed the gun at his son, “telling him that he was next,” but the boy was able to flee the room.
Sheldon Soyer chased the young boy but he was able to get out of the house, where a neighbor found him crying.
Sheldon Soyer also got out of the house and fled the property. He was on the run for 24 hours, causing a lockdown at Georgia Gwinnett College
Sheldon would later be caught the next day at a convenience store at the intersection of Old Norcross Road and Sugarloaf Parkway. He was taken into custody.
Nearly 2 years after Vanessa Soyer death, Sheldon pleaded guilty October 2017 to fatally shooting his wife 13 times.
Soyer pleaded guilty to murder, felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony Oct. 10, 2017 just before a jury was chosen for his murder trial. He was sentenced to life plus five years in prison.
At Sheldon Soyer’s sentencing, his son broke down in tears as he delivered a victim impact statement saying that “13 years was not long enough to have had his mother.”

Saw this on tv. Sheldon is such a narcissist. Blamed Vanessa for leaving him when he was the one cheating. May he rot in hell for taking away a loving mother from her children.

I got one problem with the crime program about her being murdered that is she told him she didn’t want him no more but stayed in the house they took trip to New York for a week to see family and a old flame she was to be with reconnecting and happy about it that really why she was moving back to New York where he live, why didn’t she get away from her husband right away after she told him it’s over? Instead she let him get pissed of the thought she will be gone it simmered for days building up anger, even her female close friend wondered why she didn’t hurry and get away from him..

Shame on Sheldon. I’m more so focused on The family now. I pray that although The children will never forget this,I hope that God can give them comfort. Yes 13yrs is not long enough to have had your Mom . My heart goes out to you. God Bless you and your Sister and give you both Guidance ,strength and Love along this journey called life.
