This won’t be the first time Piolo Pascual was killed by fake news.
In 2010, reports went viral that hunk actor Piolo Pascual died while filming in New Zealand.
Thess Gubi, Star Magic’s PR head had to release a statement:
“Walang katotohanan ‘yon. Nagulat nga ang Star Magic kasi si Piolo nasa bahay niya sa Quezon City [at] natutulog ng kumalat ang text messages and reports.”
The speculations about Pascual’s “death” had spread back then after a website reported that Pascual “fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set.” The website cited reports from the New Zealand police as its source.
In November 2009, rumors that the actor was killed in a car accident also surfaced.
