Devinee Rooney accident, obituary, funeral plans: Beloved Devinee Rooney death happened May 22, 2020 after she was involved in a head-on crash on Schillinger Road. She was only 18 years old.

Devinee Rooney accident occured round 5:40 p.m. in a four vehicle crash. She was set to graduate from Theodore High School on Tuesday, May 26.

A candlelight vigil will be held for Rooney at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the high school’s football field.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Devinee was driving southbound on Schillinger road and was hit head-on by a northbound vehicle.

The northbound vehicle that swerved into the path of Rooney’s Honda Accord was a 2012 Honda Accord.

Troopers said the collision happened near Tara Drive, where several northbound vehicles swerved to avoid a car pulling out into traffic.

The driver of the Ford was transported to University Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers said there were two other vehicles involved. Those vehicles collided in the northbound lanes. Neither drivers sustained serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Earlier tonight (Friday night), our THS 71 classmate and dear friend Beth Stewart Rooney and her family lost their granddaughter Devinee Rooney, a graduating Senior of THS C/O 2020, in a fatal car accident in Mobile.

A candlelight vigil to honor Devinee’s life and her accomplishments will be held tonight (Saturday, May 23, at the THS Football Stadium, at the high school, at 7:30 PM.

I may not be a senior and I may not of known Devinee Rooney, but anyone on my Facebook that is a senior at MCPSS, please wear yellow in her honor. Devinee Rooney was graduating from Theodore High School and was supposed to go to Mississippi Gulf Coast to study law and perform with the band of gold. Devinee Rooney, you were my best friend freshman year and you helped me a lot since the day I met you.

Like you honestly helped me through so much and I was grateful to have you be there for me especially with my first bad breakup and helping me come out of my shell. You were one of my first friends on guard and we made a lot of memories together like at Disney, in guard, in the stands, on the bus, at comp. at subway, and at lunch.

I am sad that we split apart for a while but I am glad that lately I was able to help you get closer to God like you wanted to do before you left. I was really looking forward to getting that coffee with you and catch up but your coffee up there is probably way better!
