Rest easy cowboy. My thoughts and prayers to Ron Sellers and the entire family and rodeo community.

Between late night Thursday May 9 and early Friday morning May 10, Travis was involved in an armed standoff with the Fort Collins Police and Larimer County Sheriff between 11pm and 5:30am.

He was reportedly armed and suicidal over a recent breakup with a girlfriend and fired multiple shots from his residence, prompting a response from SWAT.

At approximately 5:30am, SWAT entered the residence and found Travis dead after hours of failed negotiations and tactics.

At roughly 6:30am, his body was removed from the residence as forensics units collected data from the scene.

At 7:30am, a crew border up the windows and doors that were damaged during SWAT activities. The residence remains sealed under order of law.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.

  1. Travis was a poet. I hope he wrote it down somewhere as his poetry was really good and showed what a wonderful heart he had. I am so sad he won’t be writing anymore but he has joined the other great poets. He will be missed.
