TikToker jailed two years over allegation made against Eniola Badmus

Nigerian TikToker, Okoye Blessing Nwakego who was recently arrested by the police for accusing Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus of being a pimp, has been arraigned before and sentenced by a Lagos-based federal high court.

Eniola Badmus who was present when Nwakego was arrested, had stated that she needed to substantiate and prove the allegation in court.

Nwakego was charged to court on a two-count charge bordering on cyberstalking. It was alleged that she and one Chimabia now at large, “between the month of December 2022 to the month of July 2023, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of the honorable court, did conspire to commit felony to wit: cyberstalking and thereby committed an offense punishable under section 27 of the cybercrimes (prohibition, prevention, etc) act 2015.”

Additionally, it was alleged that she and Chiamabia intentionally caused the transmission of a message that was demeaning and that may put the actress in danger or cause her to suffer harm or incur criminal intimidation.

She was found guilty of the allegations brought against her by a federal high court after being arraigned on Wednesday, August 2. On count one, Nwakego received a sentence of one year in jail with the possibility of a fine of N50,000.

On count two, she received a sentence of two years in jail with the possibility of a N100,000 fine. While the periods of imprisonment must run concurrently, the terms of the consecutive must be consecutive.

She reportedly consented to pay the N150k fee to secure her freedom.
