The match was rigged – Charles Okocha on losing to Portable
Top Nollywood actor, Charles Okocha has alleged that the celebrity boxing match with controversial singer Habeeb “Portable” Okikiola was rigged.
He called for a cancellation of the fight which occurred in the hours of Wednesday at Landmark Beach in Victoria Island, Lagos and demanded a rematch. It may be recalled that the ‘Zazuu Zeh’ crooner won the fight after the fourth round.
The first round which kickstarted around 1am saw Portable, clad in his blue armless shirt and shorts, pouncing on Okocha. The singer delivered several punches at the actor who made futile attempts to dodge the jabs.
After the fourth round, the Zeh Nation boss was announced as the winner of the celebrity boxing fight against Okocha, in the match which lasted for about 40 minutes.
Reacting to Portable’s victory through his social media page, Okocha accused the referee and the match organizers of rigging.
The actor alleged that the ginger removed his boxing gloves during the third round, an action that should have led to immediate disqualification.
Charles said; “How can you give up on the 3rd round when we have 4 rounds, How do you take off your gloves on the 3rd round that’s total disqualification when the fight hasn’t ended.
“Y’all know this shiiiït was rigged plus an incompetent REFREEE that knows nothing about boxing rules…nevertheless we move✊rematch soon.
“So y’all really think this lil nïgga won after giving up on round 3 that ought to be an automatic disqualification??? 😀😀REMATCH!!! 🥊🥊”
