Sowore reacts to arrest of PDP Rep member with almost $500,000 for vote buying
The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore has broken his silence following the arrest of a member of the House of Representatives, Chinyere Igwe, by the Rivers State Police Command on Friday with $500,000 in Port Harcourt.
Igwe is one of those campaigning for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
While reacting to the report, Sowore said the Naira redesign, which he described as fraudulent, wouldn’t have stopped vote buying.
His statement is contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Friday.
He said rogue politicians don’t spend only in Naira but also in Dollars.
“They told you “fraudulent Naira redesign” would stop vote buying. Scammers at @cenbank forgot to redesign the US dollars too! They forgot that these rogues don’t spend naira,” Sowore tweeted.
