Saudi league not worse than Ligue 1 – Cristiano Ronaldo

Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that the Saudi Pro League (SPL) is not worse than France’s Ligue 1.

Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards, the Al Nassr captain said the Saudi League is more competitive than the French League at the moment.

Ronaldo said; “The level [of the SPL] right now? To be honest, I think the Saudi league is not worse than France’s league in my opinion.

“In the French league, I think you have two-three teams with a good level. In Saudi, I think it is more competitive.

“They can say what they want. This is just my opinion. But I think right now we [SPL] are better than France’s league.”
