Policemen in Delta allegedly stopped man to search his tongue

A group of Policemen in Delta have been called out by a Nigerian man who alleged they stopped him and ordered him to bring out his tongue for search.

The man with the handle @jockfreshprince said the officers asked to search his tongue because he was having dreadlocks on.

”@Brightgoldenboy Please enlighten me where it is stated in Police stop & search process that you’ll be asked to bring out your tongue for searching? Your colleagues from Ugborikoko Division are misbehaving on Airport rd. Profiling young boys to search their tongues. Ridiculous!

One officer with no name tag wasted almost 30minutes of my time insisting he wants to search my tongue cos I have dreads on. Another came with worn off tag “Oba M” reeking of alcohol said they should bundle me to the station

I asked simple question: Why do you want to search my tongue? His uneducated response was “why I am interrupting his order” Clearly these officers are behaving unprofessional. Bcos I stood on my rights and questioned his authority, he deliberately wasted my time”

Responding to his tweets, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Bright Edafe, stated that if police officers are searching tongues to save youths from drug abuse, their actions are in order but if it is for extortion, then it is completely bad and unacceptable.
