People want me to leave South African club – Super Eagles goalkeeper Nwabali

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has revealed that he’s been getting recommendations to leave South African Premier Soccer League club, Chippa United.

The shot-stopper who became prominent due to his impressive performance at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations, said he is not in a hurry to leave the club.

Nwabali replaced Francis Uzoho as the first-choice goalkeeper despite having only one cap for the Nigerian national team prior to the AFCON.

The 27-year-old who granted an interview on Arise News about his future, said people have been telling him to move to Europe or bigger clubs.

Nwabali kept four clean sheets at the AFCON tournament, saving two penalties in the semi-final against South Africa.

He said; “People have been sending messages like they want me to move to Europe or they want me to move to a bigger club. I really appreciate that, but to be honest, one thing about me is that I always feel comfortable, even if I’m in a small place; I don’t like to rush”.
