Melgar’s battle with cancer started at the beginning of last year, and doctors only gave the Guatemalan singer, a few months to live, but his faith in God kept him strengthened.
Despite the terrible diagnosis, the Christian singer continued his evangelizing activities, worshiping the God who keeps him alive during this hard battle.

OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUÉ:
Today, April 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., our brave and beloved Julio Melgar ended the good race in this life victorious and departed in the presence of the Lord.
Throughout this process, we live in a constant miracle where God drew us what it is to have an unshakeable faith throughout his life. We know that God worked, He always had control and we trusted in His sovereignty.
We have a good Father who will know how to sustain, heal and strengthen us as family and ministry. We deeply appreciate all the people who believed together with us; Thank you for raising our arms so many times.
Definitely we will not be the same, now we have a greater faith to continue to adore forever the only worthy one, because that was what our Julio taught us, who now arrived at the place that belongs.

Just last month, Christian music artists, united in prayer and solidarity over Julio’s health, organized a charity concert which held on March 11, 2019 at the church Tiempos de Gloria Cayalá in Guatemala City.
In Guatemala, different bands and Christian artists performed in concert for a time of adoration and prayer for the benefits of the Psalmist.
