I’m aiming for the Oscars – Ibrahim Chatta on AMVCA snub

Popular Nollywood actor and movie producer, Ibrahim Chatta, has finally taken to social media to address the issue of being overlooked the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

In an interview with a radio station in Ibadan, the actor indicated his displeasure at being overlooked at the mega event.

According to him, he had not been invited to the award ceremony and so felt ignored because the AMVCA failed to acknowledge him.

He also stated that though there were many performers in the business who were more deserving of praise than he is, it was still a shock to notice his junior colleagues acknowledged.

The movie producer, however declared that he won’t be fazed by the negligence knowing that his focus is on winning the Oscars.

Ibrahim wrote:

“I always thought my work wasn’t good enough, but I see my younger colleagues who score an invite to the event. I don’t want any award to limit me because I am aiming for the Oscars. If I am focusing on not being nominated at AMVCA, I can lose focus.”
