Downingtown accident: Accident on Route 113 Lionville
Downingtown accident on Tuesday afternoon caused traffic delay. The Lionville accident involved a black SUV which reportedly hit a school bus in Uwchlan Township.
The crash happened just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, along Route 113, near the Wawa and Lionville Middle School of the Downingtown Area School District.
No children were on the school bus at the time of the crash which occurred in the 500 block of West Uwchlan Avenue.
The black SUV suffered front-end damage after it slammed into the side of the school bus, prior to school dismissal.
At the moment, there are no official reports of injuries.
The serious car accident caused several of the buses transporting Downingtown students to be delayed.
Patricia McGlone, director of public information for the Downingtown Area School District, said parents had been notified.
Parents were notified through the alert system by the Downingtown Area School District about the transportation delay.
The alert published on their website read:
“Expect Transportation Delays. Due to a serious car accident on Rt. 113 and subsequent Rt. 113 road closure, transportation may be delayed for all students throughout the district. We anticipate the delays to be more on the eastern end of the district.”
