Capital high school threat update: Charleston Police Department has said threats made on social media regarding Capital High School and Stonewall Jackson Middle School do not seem credible.

Threats were made to two Kanawha County schools – Stonewall Jackson Middle School and Capital High School on social media and the threats were investigated by police.

On Tuesday, Kanawha County Schools and the Charleston Police Department confirmed a threat had been made at Stonewall Jackson Middle School

A statement was sent out by the Kanawha County Board of Education Wednesday morning to Capital High School parents informing them on the rumored threat and stated they were working with school administrators and law enforcement to determine the source of the rumors.

Charleston Police Department, after investigation, said neither threat seems credible to police, but there will be additional enforcement at both schools as a precaution.
