Southern state accident: Here are graphic pictures from the Southern state accident today that killed one and left three other people critically injured.
According to police, the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes west of Exit 35.
Southern state accident:
A driver was killed and three other people hurt – two critically – Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes near Exit 35 on the Southern State Parkway in the Town of Babylon, State Police said.
State police say, in a news release, that the driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead. Two others in that vehicle were critically injured in the crash in the North Amityville area. A third person suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.
The parkway was closed eastbound at Exit 35.
UPDATE:
About an hour from the time of writing this report, the EB Southern State Parkway was said to have been reopened in Babylon between Exits 34 and 35. The accident investigation work has been complete and again all lanes are now open.
