Shinique Collins death: Shinique Collins dead in Detroit murder suicide
Shinique Collins death happened after an attempted Detroit murder suicide Wednesday morning May 1st 2019.
Shinique Collins was allegedly shot dead by her fiance, her children’s father. He had proposed to her on her 30th birthday on Facebook only to kill her two months later in front of her kids in Detroit.
Shinique Collins death:
According to police, at around 3:30am on Wednesday, they were called to the Jefferson Square Apartments, south of Jefferson Ave and just west of Dickerson Ave in the Jefferson-Chalmers district.
On arrival at the apartment, they found 30-year-old Shinique Collins shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A black man, in his late 20s, her fiance, was also shot but was still alive.
Guests and four children were inside the home, police said. All the children are under the age of 10.
Detroit police Capt. Michael Deciccio said the neighbor upstairs heard an argument and then the gunshots.
Shinique and her fiance argued downstairs after a night visiting with friends — a man and a woman who were in the apartment with their children at the time of the shooting. Deciccio said:
“The three children that they have in common were upstairs sleeping, and there was another of the persons visiting, one of their children was there also. Four children in the apartment.”
While the children they shared were sleeping upstairs, Shinique and her fiance argued downstairs before the man pulled out a 9 mm and shot and killed her.
According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene. The children’s father had a 9-mm handgun and turned it on himself after shooting his fiance, police said.
He survived a gunshot to the head. The man has undergone surgery but is in critical condition.
Police are still investigating.
May Shinique’s soul rest in perfect peace.
