Man bags death sentence for killing friend over N100 in Zamfara

A Zamfara State High Court on Wednesday sentenced a man, Anas Dahiru to death by hanging for killing his friend over money.

Dahiru of Unguwar Dallatu area of Gusau, was accused of killing his friend, Shamsu Ibrahim with a knife during a dispute over N100 (One Hundred Naira) in 2017.

The presiding judge, Mukhtar Yusha’u said that having listened to both sides, the court was convinced that the defendant commited the crime.

He convicted and sentenced the Dahiru to death by hanging as enshrined in section 221 of the Penal Code.
