Josey Shutter accident: How Josey Shutter death happened:

28 year old Josey Shutter, mother to a young child, was in her silver 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, east-bound on FM-1988 when her vehicle began to hydroplane and turned sideways due to wet road conditions.

Josey Shutter car slid directly into a west-bound black 2000 Ford F-150 driven by 34 year old Dwayne Keith Boyette of Goodrich.

The impact on collision caused both vehicles to leave the pavement and slide into the grass on the west-bound side of 1988.

Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers Allen Stanton and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol.

Tragically, Josey Shutter was killed on impact. A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported Shutter away from the scene. Her vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston.

Dwayne Keith Boyette sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. His vehicle was recovered by Ken’s Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Justice of the Peace, Sarah Arnette performed an inquest at the scene. Investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol continues.

Traffic on 1988 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.
