John Giorno death, obituary: Beloved John Giorno died last night, October 11, 2019. He was 83 years old.

Read touching tributes from friends and loved ones who adored John:
- From Ian W. Hill:
There’s some sad news reported only by one source, and it’s a pretty damned reliable one, but still…
In any case, whether true or not, some people should be celebrated whether still in the world or not, and this is as bracing a way to start a Saturday where Work Should Get
Done as I know of…
- From Charlie Huisken:
John Giorno R I P
Nothing like walking west on Queen Street arm in arm with John as he emphasized points he was making by poking my chest Italian-style.This after having breakfast at Zuppa’s with Giorno and John Brown, great Toronto painter. That after visiting studios & offices at 401 Richmond. This after squiring Giorno to JazzFM to be interviewed by Jaymz Bee.
That after picking Giorno up at Marcus Boon & Christie Pearson’s place on Bathurst and a bit of breakfast with their Jesse. I offered to go in the cab to Liberty Village with Giorno because in those days even cab drivers could get lost in there.
The Bunker in NYC should be a museum.
We’ll do a tribute to John Giorno here in Toronto later this year or early next year. But no mimicking of Giorno, please. It can’t be done. One-of-a-kind.
Might travel to NYC for their inevitable tribute.
