Jessica Tran death, obituary: Indiana University student Jessica Tran cause of death is still being investigated after the 19-year-old freshman was found dead inside an IU residence hall.

Indiana University Police Department was called at 8:28 a.m. Monday to Clark Wing of Read Center in response to 19-year-old Jessica Tran passing.

Tran from Indianapolis was found by Indiana University campus police just before 8:30 a.m. Monday in the Clark Wing of Read Center.

According to IU spokesperson Chuck Carney, Tran was unresponsive and efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.

Details about how Jessica Tran died is still under investigation, but Carney said there were no visible signs of foul play or self-harm.

Carney said there is no indication of suicide at this time, and IUPD does not suspect foul play.

Her parents were notified soon after and have met with the Dean of Students.
