It was difficult to live – Man who returns to Nigeria with wife shares japa story
A Nigerian man has shared his japa story as he advised fellow Nigerians who are planning on relocating to plan well before embarking on this journey.
Taking to the microblogging platform, Twitter, the man identified as Shamseddin Giwa shared his japa story.
According to him, he and his wife traveled abroad with the aim of seeking greener pastures just like every other Nigerian.
However, what they expected wasn’t what they met, they shared that they struggled financially and their marriage also suffered from the hectic jobs.
After many years of living like that, the couple decided to come back to Nigeria, and Giwa shared that everything they sought abroad was handed to them when they got to the country.
Giwa’s experience with his wife had many Nigerians talking, while others argued that because it didn’t work for them, doesn’t mean it’s not going to work for other people, and added that they were illegal immigrants which was why they found it difficult to survive.
Some people supported the man as they stated that traveling abroad is not a bed of roses and some people barely survive in some countries.
They urged people planning to relocate to have a solid plan before embarking on the japa journey because they were going to need it.
The relocation story you don’t get told.
This was us several years back as a young couple looking for better life abroad. The dream was good, the intentions were good and we had enough to start. We just didn’t have enough information of how challenging it would get.
