The Rolla man who is suspected to have caused the accident, 25 year old Austin B. Edwards has been arrested on multiple charges – suspicion of felony driving while intoxicated (resulting in the death of another), felony driving while intoxicated (resulting in a serious physical injury) and operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner resulting in a crash.
He was incarcerated in the Maries County Jail on a 24-hour hold pending the issuance of a warrant.

Police reports say Edwards was operating a 2003 Ford Mustang northbound on Highway E at 3:15 a.m. Saturday when it crossed the center line of the roadway.
The car began to skid south of County Road 538, travelled off of the right side of the roadway, became airborne and impacted multiple trees before overturning and coming to rest on its top.
25 year old Brennan M. Kristek of Waynesville was killed as a result of crash. Another person, Raven D. Taylor, 22, of Fayette, Arkansas was seriously injured and was transported by Phelps Air for treatment at University Hospital in Columbia.
Austin B. Edwards was taken into custody at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
