Our hearts are broken by the tragic loss of our dear Mercy sister, Amayah Charles ’18, in an accident over the weekend. A wonderful student, a faithful friend and a loving daughter and sister, Amayah was determined to serve others and was enrolled in the nursing program at Notre Dame of Maryland University.
We ask for prayers for Amayah’s dear family and for the Mercy and Notre Dame communities. We will share funeral arrangements when they are finalized.
Eternal rest grant unto Amayah, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

From New Hope Dance Ministry: Our hearts ♥️ are broken at the lost of our sister in Christ! Amayah Charles was a member of Fountaint Baptist and she would often dance with New Hope Dance Ministry. She loved dancing and would always ask if she could dance. We will miss you! R.I.P 10/14/19

Amayiah was always warm and pleasant. I worked with her for a short time but, she was always pleasant. She told me several times when she saw me leaving work, she would say
“have a good night and be safe”
