20-year-old man arrested for allegedly k!lling his father and harvesting his body parts for ritual in Ogun
The So-Safe Corps, officially known as the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, has apprehended a 20-year-old man named Ridwan for allegedly murdering his father for alleged ritualistic purposes in Ogun State.
In an official press release issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, it was reported that on Thursday, August 31st, around 12:00hrs, while conducting their regular patrol in Oshoku Village, Ijebu North Local Government Area, Corps officers heard a strange noise from a nearby building.
The officers entered the building to confirm what was happening. To their astonishment, they discovered the lifeless body of a man lying in a pool of his own blood, and the suspected killer had fled the scene.
Commander Ganzallo then instructed ACC Marcus Ayankoya, the Zonal Commander of the Ijebu Zonal Command, to ensure the arrest of the alleged assailant, Ridwan, within a 24-hour timeframe. He was later nabbed where he was hiding in a bush.
“He confessed to have killed his father, Ishau with a rope tied to his neck and a knife used to remove the needed parts of his body for ritual purposes,” the statement reads.
He also confessed to removing his father’s private parts, larynx, and ‘just’ four teeth, as requested by a ritualist known as Baba Kekere. However, when questioned about the whereabouts of this ritualist, the suspect refused to provide more information.
Ganzallo disclosed that the alleged killer has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ogbere Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and likely prosecution.
