The menace of internet fraudsters in Nigeria is at its peak, and many Nigerians have been speaking up against the crime.

Though recently, Naira Marley courted controversy after asking the public to pray for Yahoo boys, he claimed the fraudsters are the one sustaining the economy.

In a recent post on Twitter, a Nigerian lady identified as @Nnaka_m on the platform narrated her encounter with officers of the EFCC.

She claimed that the officers wanted to strike a deal with her, so they could get some loot from the fraudsters and share among themselves. See what she wrote below;

One EFCC officer walks into my barber shop for a cut and he tells me and the guys that he’s got a deal for us.

I say, ok, officer, what’s up?

Keep in mind the barber shop is located in a serviced apartment within Gwarinpa that is almost elitist; gbogbo bigz boys & co

Him: what kind of guys de come here?

Me: all sorts. It’s a nice place. If you can afford over N3mill for a bedroom apartment then this is it.

Him: but yahoo boys de here sha?

Me: Una wan arrest person?

Him: something like that. U fit know when them Don cashout?

Me: lol… Officer… I no be their gf na.
Him: ok, but you sabi anyone for here?
Me: nah… Na hair me de cut.
Him: ok, I have one deal for you. We’re looking for an insider that’ll inform us when they cashout so we can threaten them and cashout from them…

…that’s where you come in. If you tell us, we’ll give you 10% of whatever we recover from them.

Me: does this money go to the Govt’ or its just you and your guys?

Him: madam, na wa for you ooo… Which kin govt’? Your own na to just tell us & u get paid!

And just then it dawned on me!

Even the “authorities” reinforce fraud.

You see, these guys are emboldened because they know they can always pay their way out.

All they need do is pay someone somewhere and they’re back on the streets.

Going to the police will not solve anythin
