Writer blasts Nigerians abroad, discouraging people not to seek further opportunities in other countries

An author has called out Nigerians abroad who are discouraging others living in the country from seeking opportunities outside the country.

He called the Nigerians in Diaspora who do that evil, describing those who discourage Nigerians still in the country from seeking opportunities abroad as people who can murder.

Writer blasts Nigerians abroad, discouraging people not to seek further opportunities in other countries

He wrote;

You are evil if you are abroad and telling people not to come, or dissuading people from seeking their own opportunities abroad also. In fact, evil does not begin to describe you. You can murder.

Of course, I dissuade people from doing it illegitimately.

But sitting pretty abroad and telling people not to come, because “it’s cold”, “it’s expensive”, “it’s lonely”, while you’re there is being really silly, and that’s putting it mildly.

The reactions to the post are worth reading, see a few below.

Despite all these things those people who give such advice don’t move back to Nigeria.
The truth is that many Nigerians don’t want fellow Nigerians to get the opportunity to be on their level.  They want you to remain here and run their errands and get $50 change – @cb_codes

About 3 people have discouraged me now with phrases like “there’s nothing abroad”, “Nigeria is where untapped opportunities are”, ” there’s suffering here too”. Me I’m shaa still coming to Canada oh. Lol. – @theseunpeter

I know a guy that left his degree and swore that starting primary 3 abroad is better. He has been there 7 years now and the only reason why he hasn’t come back is the shame and the fact that he can’t afford ticket. His best advise now is, “come only if you have a better plan” – @moneysensecoach

Thank God say all embassy still open ..Why listen to people in the 1st place. Just go and try for visa too ..but I sense a bit of ignorance in this tweet ..If you actually see how some Africans suffer abroad ..you yourself typing this tweet will advise them to stay put in Africa. It’s not like people who live abroad don’t want their people to come over per se, what they don’t want is to bring load of their problem from Africa and add it to their already existing problems abroad ..I will like every Africans to travel abroad ..there is a different level of exposure there and your brain will be open ..but trust me, there are real problems abroad and some real problems are even worse off than African problems…I alws tell my friends .. except u r professionals and professional job is waiting for you ..but if you are in your 40’s and you are just trying to go abroad to go and hustle ..chances are there that..you will suffer and that sufferness can even take your life if u ain’t careful. Abroad is hard hard and it can be easy easy ..it’s all depend, but I will never advise anyone from Africa in their 40’s to travel abroad as illegal .. There is nothing wrong in telling people the reality of the so called ‘ abroad lifestyles ‘ …There are potential pros & cons to every decision. Nothing is evil there, the evil thing is to deceive people to believe abroad is heaven on earth – @Derek74399105

  1. Ikenna Nzimora, Nobody based abroad is discouraging you from any overseas adventure.They are only giving you sound advice based on what is on the ground and the true reality of things. Iam an Ibo and based in the USA. You remind me of a classical “educated” Ibo illiterate with an absolute eighteenth century village mentality. The next thing you’d claim is that those who “discouraged” you do not want your progress!!. People like you always end up in jail, deported in mental institution or even suicide. Nobody is holding you back from going anywhere.They are telling you the naked truth. The ball is in your court!!!.
