Super Eagles legend Kanu Nwankwo has apologized to Nigerians on behalf of the Super Eagles after their poor performance last night in Kaliningrad, Russia.
The Nigerian team lost 2-0 to Croatia in their first game of World Cup 2018.
The Arsenal legend urged Nigerians to continue to support the Super Eagles and believe in them.
Kanu Nwankwo said;
“We apologize for not getting the three points but that’s football and we thank all for your support.
“Next match we will do better and we still believe it is not over up Eagles remember is our team. Positive vibes for Africa”,
Also, Former Super Eagles Coach, Christian Chukwu, has also reacted to Super Eagles’ loss to Croatia.
The Super Eagles squad suffered a defeat in the hands of Vatreni of Croatia in their first match in Group D at the ongoing World Cup on yesterday.
Reacting to the loss to Croatia, Christian Chukwu urged the Super Eagles to step-up their game by putting forward the Nigerian fighting spirit.
Christian Chukwu told NAN in Enugu that Nigerians and the Super Eagles should not lose hope yet.
He, however, noted that the team did not play well especially in the first half of the game.
“We have to concentrate on winning the rest of the matches in the group.
“We must not or never loss hope at this early stage but put up the fighting Nigerian spirit.”
On the various changes needed to be done in the team, he said since the coach knew the exact places to effect a change in the team before the next match.
The Super Eagles would be playing Iceland’s Strákarnir Okkar (Our Boys) on June 22 (Friday) and will later play Albiceleste of Argentina on June 26 (Tuesday).
Iceland and Argentina played a one all draw in an earlier match on Saturday.
