Woman sells grandson for N1.3m because his dad didn’t pay bride price before impregnating her daughter

The Rivers State Police has rescued a two-week-old baby boy, who was allegedly sold by the grandmother for N1.3million.

According to the police reports, the child’s grandmother identified as Antonia Amos, sold the child because her daughter’s baby daddy had yet to pay her bride price.

Antonia was arrested after the father of the baby, Christian Duru reported the case to the police.

The Commissioner of Police (CP), Joseph Mukan, said the suspect led the security operatives to Ukanafun LGA in Akwa-Ibom State where one Pauline Umoh was arrested.

Paulina later led the Police to Mgbidi in Imo State where the buyer, Juliana Obianwa was arrested and the baby recused.

Efforts are made to to arrest other parties involved in the crime.
