It was gathered that the 34-yer-old woman was told by her landlord that the satellite dish was installed too low and should be moved higher, and this led to an argument.

Matshidiso told her landlord she did not have money and would do it when she got paid, but he ended up beating her.

The angry landlord allegedly said Matshidiso was not co-operative before he reportedly attacked.

“He provoked me. Did he expect me to say nothing? I could see he was in a bad mood when he approached me, but I didn’t think it would end up this way,” said Matshidiso.

Four men who witnessed the attack said Matshidiso deserved the beating because she seemed rude to her landlord.

But Matshidiso wants justice. According to her, her landlord undermines his tenants and calls them names.

North West police spokeswoman Colonel Adele Myburgh confirmed that a case of assault was opened. The suspect will appear in court on 4 March.

  1. Nawa ooo,the landlord is not a man because for him to beat a man he want and beat a woman . and the woman us at fult to she sould not be rude to her landlord. Jealous landlord

  2. This is a painful story as one would have never expected that a landlord has the right to beat his female tenant

  3. So because he is the landlord he has the right to beat her at will. I honestly do not understand African men and their right and impunity mentality

  4. The landlord should be held responsible of the cause because she told him she don’t have money yet and he refused

  5. Whatever happened and how it happened I don’t know but for no reason the landlord does not have the right to lay a finger on a tenant.

  6. The landlord shouldn’t have done that. They should have communicated better and resolved whatever issues they had with each other. Fighting won’t settle a thing.
