There’s yet another sad news of Fulani herdsmen attack in Benue State, as it was gathered that Mbachom village, in Turan Jato-Aka Kwande local government area of Benue State is the latest village to be attacked by suspected herdsmen in the state.
The suspected Fulani herdsmen reportedly attacked the village in the early hours of today, and reportedly killed numerous villagers including women and children, setting many houses on fire. Online sources disclosed that security operatives have stormed the village, to restored order in the village whose residents have been thrown into mourning.

Few weeks ago, it was reported that gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen killed 18 persons and destroyed 35 houses in a fresh attack on Ayar Mbalom village, Gwer East local Government Area of Benue State.
According to reports, those killed include a Rev Father who was identified as Gor Joseph. The attackers sacked the entire village, it was further learnt. The attack occurred barely 3 days after some gunmen also suspected to be herdsmen attacked six communities in the state.
They stormed six villages in Benue state in military uniform, shooting sporadically and setting houses ablaze in an attack that claimed the lives of at least ten people. Speaking after the attack on the six communities, the state government, however, urged the security operatives to live up to their responsibilities by averting further attacks in Benue.
One of the locals said, “This is the second time since yesterday (Friday) these herdsmen would be attacking these villages, as I am talking to you ten dead bodies have been recovered.’
“As I’m talking to you, (around 2.04pm), gunshots still rent the air, while several houses have been burnt down.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP, Moses Yamu, however said he was yet to receive such report and asked to be given time to find out the situation of things from the council Divisional Police Officer.
