Veteran Nollywood actor, Owolabi Ajasa, who completed his Higher National Diploma course from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta last year, has began his service year.
The actor who was deployed to Kogi State for his service year, shared photos from his camp on social media with the caption;
“Tank God… I achieved My aim.. Glory be to God.. Kogi NYSC orientation camp.”
However the photos sparked controversy on social media, as some argued that Owolabi Ajasa is above 30 years, which is the maximum age for prospective corp members.
Recall also that Nollywood child star, Somadina Adinma, recently shared photos of himself as a youth corp member. The young man recently graduated from Nnamdi Azikwe University from department of Theatre Arts.
Photos of him in his NYSC uniform in Nasarawa state went viral, as he proceeded to observe the one year mandatory NYSC program.
Somadina started his acting career as a child, but proceeded to add modeling to his resume when he got older. The former child actor, Somadina Adinma featured in a number of films with notable actors like Mercy Johnson, Ebube Nwagbo, among others.
He made his debut at the age of 7 in the movie, Beyond Death. According to a Facebook post, Soma lost his father at age 5 and was solely brought up by his mother.
Punch also reports that Corps members, posted to some states that have come under continuous attacks by Fulani herdsmen in the Middle Belt and parts of the North, appealed to the authorities of the National Youths Service Corps to redeploy them to more secure states.
Some of the parents of serving and incoming members, who spoke with SUNDAY PUNCH, also expressed great fears over the safety of their children in the troubled states, pleading with the Federal Government to save the young Nigerians from killers.
