uOttawa student death 2019: The death of an uOttawa undergraduate student in an apartment off campus was confirmed October 31, 2019 by the Ottawa Police Services.

Identity of the student who died will not be disclosed out of respect for the family’s privacy.

President Jacques Frémont yesterday released a message to the university community following the death of the student.

The message reads:

Dear Members of the University Community,

It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the death of a member of our uOttawa community. Yesterday, Ottawa Police Services confirmed the death of an undergraduate student in an apartment off campus.

On behalf of the uOttawa community, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and other members of our community who knew the student.

The identity of the student will not be disclosed out of respect for the family’s privacy. With this in mind, we ask that you be caring, discrete and respectful of the student’s family and friends in your use of social media as it relates to this incident.
