Nigeria’s Kamaru Usman has defeated Tyron Woodley, to claim the UFC 235 welterweight title bout from the current champion.
From bell to bell, the challenger impressed, dominating Woodley on the feet and on the ground, and Usman is now the new champion.
Usman relentlessly punished Tyron Woodley in the five rounds of the game to become the new UFC Welterweight Champion.
With this, Usman has become the first African-born champion in UFC history. He controlled the fight from start to finish and won via unanimous decision, capturing scores of 50-44, 50-44, and 50-45.
Usman now owns a 14-fight win streak and a career record of 14-1. He’s yet to lose in the UFC.
“I want you to remember this day forever. Daddy did it,” Usman told his daughter after the match.
