Tony Etchison death, obituary: Beloved Tony Etchison accident happened while he was working in a soybean field at his family farm in Arcadia around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday October 23, 2019.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s report, Anthony Etchison was working when another farmer slowed down his combine to turn a corner.
Etchison tried to climb up on the vehicle but missed his step and fell. He was tragically run over by the combine and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident that led to Tony Etchison death happened at 274th Street and Ott Road was reported to police at 7:35 p.m.
Etchison is survived by his wife Toby and their three boys, J.P., a freshman at Indiana University; Gus, a junior star basketball player at Hamilton Heights; and Tillman, also a standout basketball player, who is an eighth grader at Hamilton Heights Middle School.
Gus mourned his father with a tribute on social media that read:
RIP to the best man their ever was. You were my bestfriend, my role model, my rock, my everything.
I remember every moment with you like it was yesterday. I love you so much dad and just want you to come home😭

Etchison was also an agent at Indiana Farm Bureau in Noblesville.
He was a member of the Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame, inducted as a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2016 Silver Anniversary Team and, in July, was appointed to the hall of fame’s board of directors.
His death is a heartbreaking tragedy. Please say a prayer for his grieving family. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
