Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, a Malawi-born preacher who claims he can ‘walk on air’, is the founder of Shepherd Bushiri Ministries International and Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) located in Pretoria, South Africa.

Here is all you need to know about the prophet:

1. He also has churches in Ghana.

2. He became popular in 2015 – Everyone got to meet the prophet, who is also known as “Major One,” when a video of him ‘walking on air’ went viral.

 3. He has been interviewed by BBC – Bushiri recently had a one-on-one with the prestigious media house.

Reacting to claims that he is a scam artist, he says, “I’m just a messenger of God’s work. God heals people in our meetings. One time I got doctors here in Pretoria to bring patients with HIV — they tested them before to show they are HIV, I prayed for them and again afterward and now they were HIV-negative.”

“My ministry is not for everyone, it is for those who have faith,” he adds.

Concerning his prosperity message and lavish lifestyle, the prophet says, “My prosperity is an inspiration for my followers — they think if God can do it for me, He can do it for them. If they believed there is anything wrong, they wouldn’t be following me.” The interview was published on March 5, 2018.

4. He owns at least four private jets and hotels.

5. The Prophet was reportedly banned from Botswana over the alleged use of “miracle money.”

6. He attracts about 40,000 people every Sunday.

7. He is married to Mary Zgambo and they have two kids.
