The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has called for Whatapp to be banned following its new policy .
According to the new privacy policy updated by Whatapp, “all kinds of personal data, payment transactions, contacts, location and other vital information of a person who is using WhatsApp will be acquired by it and can be used for any purpose by WhatsApp”.
CAIT has demanded that “the government should immediately restrict WhatsApp from implementing the new policy or put a ban on WhatsApp and its parent company Facebook”, the traders’ body stated.
The new privacy policy has caused outrage, as many Whatapp users threatens to leave the app over its new policy.
However, the Whatapp is currently trending on social media, as rival app Telegram Twitter page, took to Twitter to mock Whatapp.
